Q. HOW WILL I GET MY REFUND?
A. Your refund will be deposited directly into your
account, normally in 9 to 16 days. If you prefer a check, mark
box 6c in Part II on Form 8453. It will take about one week longer
for your refund to arrive.
Q. WHEN ARE THE FEES DEDUCTED?
A. Express File debits the account on your tax return, usually on the Friday following IRS acceptance. The exact date is shown on your acknowledgment letter and on the taxpayer login page.
Q. HOW CAN I CHECK ON THE STATUS
OF MY REFUND?
A. You can check the IRS acknowledgment status on the taxpayer login page. After you get your acknowledgment you can call the
Tele-Tax number (800-829-4477) for
a recorded message.
Q. WHAT IF EXPRESS FILE FINDS AN
ERROR ON MY RETURN?
A. If we find any errors or omissions, we explain the problem on the taxpayer login page, and we send you a letter with explanation and a new Form 8453 to complete
and submit, together with your corrected return. You are responsible
for making required corrections, so seek professional assistance
if needed. Note that an error charge applies.
Q. CAN REFUNDS BE DELAYED?
A. Social Security mismatches and missing information
are the most common reasons for delays. Call the Social Security
Administration at 800-772-1213 if you are unsure.
Q. HOW ACCURATE IS EXPRESS FILE?
A. Express Filed returns are 40 times less likely to be corrected by the IRS.
Q. WHAT IF I OWE A BALANCE DUE? WHY
SHOULD I E-FILE?
A.You can file now, pay later,
and beat the last-minute rush. No matter when we file your return,
you don't have to pay what you owe until later (as late as April
15th). In the meantime, you have proof of
acceptance from the IRS.
Q. CAN MY STATE RETURN BE ELECTRONICALLY
FILED WITH A FEDERAL RETURN?
A. In most cases, yes.
